Birmingham
[edit]I cannot quite understand why all these lines should include Birmingham in their itinerary? There are those routes crossing the country that don't include that city. I am thinking of the TransPennine routes; the Heart of Wessex route; the East/West Coastway routes; and the Heart of Wales Line, which is certainly cross (Wales) country. The title of the article does suggest that each should be included. Peter Shearan 12:28, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I have now begun to expand the article, and shall include those mentioned here. The three so far are all included in Virgin's timetables Peter Shearan 07:17, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- There has been a slight disagreement about whether or not all these services warrant the inclusion in this article - hence the explanation I have given to the term "Cross Country services". The disagreement arose over whether the only real such service was the Aberdeen - Penzance service; and the original article specified that all such services needed to pass through Birmingham. There is also the fact that the Virgin service - see here is actually more than the single line. Peter Shearan 12:00, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
