[edit]er... how does someone study music "in" the philadelphia orchestra? i don't know what this is trying to say.
I was present at the 1963 performance, and the same age as AW, and also a piano student, and, later, a serious musicology student at UCLA, with Slonimsky ... but my point is that AW was always an electrifying musician and obviously playing from deep within. I believe that reports of his demise, as one Youtube writer had it, are exaggerated.

Carbon copy?
[edit]The text of this article is almost a carbon copy of The African American Registry webpage "Andre Watts is classical piano!". What about Wikipedia's policy about not copying others' materials available in the Internet? To make matters worse, someone deleted André Watts- picture! --AVM 16:05, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Question over Peabody Diploma
[edit]It may be true that Prof. Watts did not graduate from Peabody; his IU Faculty Profile does not mention any such degree. But this correction must be written appropriately into the article, preferably sourced, and not haphazardly appended in a derogatory, unprofessional, and unencyclopedic tone as was recently done. That edit has been deleted. Thanks. --cantseetheforest —Preceding undated comment was added at 23:58, 10 October 2008 (UTC).
Article rewrite
[edit]I will be undertaking a rewrite of this article. At present, it looks like a press release with some random information inserted.THD3 (talk) 13:58, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
Information on recordings
[edit]I have consolidated the information on Watts' recordings into one section. I also changed the name from selected discography to recording artist since no specific recordings are mentioned. There may be cause for putting in a detailed discography on this page, but it might be problematic because many of Watts' Columbia recordings have inexuseably never been issued on CD.THD3 (talk) 12:27, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
