In 1712 the Dutch trading ship the Zuytdorp was wrecked on the West Coast of Australia. Survivors scrambled ashore and waited, camping on the cliffs above the beach, building huge bonfires from the wreckage so they could signal to rescue ships. No-one ever came. They were never seen again.
So obviously that's not me.
