1 year of unnoticed copyright violation
[edit]Sorry by my Engrish
Hi, since when I lost totally my connection one year ago (march 2004) I was unable to keep in touch with Wikipedia. the week I was going to post an advertence at Wkipedia Possible copyright violations... you guessed it the connection was wiped out!
Finally, after 12 months today is the first time I reconnect (but not from my computer)
So, here we go: The picture at Dolores ORiordan articles IS a copyvio (the image is form the doors and windows CD-ROM)
The 3 pictures at To The Fiathful Departed article (but not the cover) are copyvio too
the reason the cover .JPG is not a copyvio is the Fair Use.
the same applies to the Doors and Windows cover .JPG (Fair Use)
Best wishes Michael.
Attribution
[edit]Thanks for making {{Attribution}}! I was thinking about doing the same thing. Now we just have to re-tag all those images. dbenbenn | talk 06:06, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
It looks like you didn't so much translate the few words I didn't know what to make of (and generally thought must be colloquialisms) as just drop them. Am I missing something? -- Jmabel | Talk 20:10, Jan 23, 2005 (UTC)
- When a colloqualism from another language is so obscure that no reasonable definition for it can be found, it may do well to just remove it and recast what remains. And "internode" only has meaning in biology. Peter O. (Talk) 20:16, Jan 23, 2005 (UTC)
- I was thinking more of things like "canuto" and "naranjito", that probably have clear meaning to a native speaker from the right country, but obviously not the meaning that they would have internationally. -- Jmabel | Talk 20:20, Jan 23, 2005 (UTC)
unverified images
[edit]The template {{unverifiedimage...}} seems to break infoboxes. You did this to Mariachi. Burschik 09:20, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)
IcneumonWasp copyright
[edit]Howdy, There is reference on the Image:IcneumonWasp.png and Image:IcneumonWasp15mm.png pages to permission being given by the owner of those images. IchneumonWasp20mm Image photographed and donated by Keith Power, Toowoomba Australia (ref on that page). I still have the e-mails saved ... not sure which copyright tag is appropriate...azwaldo 01:26, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Cheicon.jpg
[edit]I have reuploaded it because it is well-known that the original photographer has allowed for it to be reproduced. If you question my decision, please point me to the respective copyright owner. Otherwise, I challenge that the original disclaimer (for it, as well as the original photograph – which I cannot find as it was deleted) was sufficient for featuring the image in a fairuse capacity. Thanks
[edit]I just wanted you to know that I appreciated your comments on the talk page of the LaRouche arbitration case. --HK 00:39, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Return of the Untagged Image project
[edit]You were kind enough to contribute to the Wikipedia:Untagged images project; I beg to draw your attention to part 2 of the project - there are about 12,000 more images in need of tagging. Any assistance you could provide would be most welcome. thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)
- Out of curiosity, what exactly are you doing at the top of Wikipedia:Untagged Images/untaggedimages-aj. Has me well puzzled. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

[edit]Image:Int_wikilogo_jtvisona.png I created this logotype from scratch, but give the rights to this incarnation to Wikipedia. I assume that the default licensing scheme is GNU, but I'll let you make the decision. Sorry for a slow response, but it's been awhile.
Current VFD
[edit]Current VFD is being updated by a new bot and at a different page: User:AllyUnion/VFD List. It also notifies in the edit history what articles have been added. -- AllyUnion (talk) 14:48, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Phonetics project
[edit]I'm trying to get some activity in the Phonetics project going. I've organized the project page and added some links and templates. Anyone who feels they're interested in phonetics, come and have a look. The more the merrier. Peter Isotalo 15:11, Apr 13, 2005 (UTC)
Old sigs
[edit]Be prepared for some flak that may be heading your way. The old sig format that was rendered redundant by the latest release of MediaWiki is now screwing up the edit function. Some of your old sigs weren't corrected when the change happened (I've just cleaned some up on the English/American language differences talk page). I'm just going through my edit list to track down my old mistakes, but I expect I'll get spoken to. Cheers. Noisy | Talk 12:09, Apr 17, 2005 (UTC)
French verbs
[edit]I translated the French Wikipedia article into Morphology of the French verb. Feel free to point out/correct/point and laugh at mistakes. Blotwell 17:35, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[Refugee] image - El Carpio camp
[edit]You asked on my page where I got the picture; I took it in Costa Rica, when I was visiting the camp with James Latham, former head of Radio for Peace International, and several other members of the station. I sign over all rights to the foundation you mentioned before - use it to your heart's content. :) - Rei
I noticed that you have edited the article show cat. There is currently a discussion on the talk page about the section that mentions health problems. The dissagreement is if the article should state that this is a problem (the position I have taken) or weather the article should state that this is a misconception which is not true. Your input would we appreciated. Dalf | Talk 23:39, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
Gene Sarazen image
[edit]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Gene-sarazen.jpg. This was captured from an eBay .jpeg listing. The original photograph was from a newspaper photograph (perhaps AP?). This photo carried no copyright notice. It should be released.
Hello! I've noticed your past interest in Wikipedia:Mind Benders and wanted to share the following announcement with you! I've taken over the responsibilities of Mind Benders, and the page will now be regularly updated. Right now, the pre-round is open (it's more of a creative artistic competition), and round one will open soon (the questions are done, we just need to wait for the pre-round to begin/finish)! So why not check it out? I'll keep you updated! Thanks, Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:28, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
P.S. Feel free to pass this news on to other Wikipedians.
images
[edit]I see you have put some notices on User:DW's page regarding unverified images downloaded by him. There is no point asking him for information. The user in question (and his multiple sockpuppets) are hardbanned permanently for threatening users (serious serious threats) and gross misbehaviour. While on here he uploaded tons of copyright images and claimed they were copyright-free. Users deleted vast numbers of them ages ago. If you find any remaining images by this user, delete them on sight. Anything by him was deleted or reverted on sight. These simply escaped the cull. Delete them immediately. Hello! I've noticed your past interest in Wikipedia:Mind Benders and wanted to let you know that round one is now officially open! Consisting of ten challenging, puzzling questions, it is sure to be tons of WikiFun! In addition, take a look at all 9 of our great artistic entries and vote for one of them! Hope to see you there!
