Moved/removed
[edit]Removed:
- 452 - Attila the Hun invades Italy
It did happen in 452, but I could not confirm the date from a good source. --mav 05:47, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Removed:
- 1790 - King's College founded by United Empire Loyalist scholars from what is now Columbia University at Windsor, Nova Scotia
It happened sometime in 1789 - I could not pin down an exact date. --mav 05:47, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Removed:
Could not be confirmed outside of 'this day in history'-type pages. --mav 05:47, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Moved to June 21:
Nope - was on or about June 21. --mav 05:47, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
This was removed today.
- 793 - The first Viking raid on British soil at Lindisfarne where a set date for the raid is known.
I then put it back, and then it was removed again by User:Grouf who didn't seem to understand why I was putting it back. Rather than getting into some revert of reverts thing, I thought I would just comment here. If it really shouldn't be listed, then by all means keep it out. It has been part of the listing for a while now (going back at least several months I spot checked). Thanks, David Reiss (talk) 21:06, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- I checked for that event and all I got was unsource sentences and the date seems to be disputed as well. This page is to list events that have sources listed on the page(s) they are linking to, if its not sourced it doesn't belong here. Please see WP:DAYS for more information. - This has now been sourced, and the date added. June 8 793 is the most commonly accepted date by scholars and is the one present in most contemporary evidence.--Grianne (talk) 01:21, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
In accordance with the guidelines, I'm continuing to weed the Births and Deaths sections by removing entries for celebrities with 0-4 articles in other languages. Where possible, these have been transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles. As well as making the lists more manageable, this will help with the globalization effort.Deb (talk) 20:27, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
