Your comments
[edit]hello there Temistokles,
thank you for your comments. I am not quite sure what your problem seems to be, but it sounds a tad bit rude and out of place. Of course everyone makes mistakes, we are all humans, however there is a difference between being a native speaker and translating aka auf Deutsch dolmetschen. I don't study dolmetschen and yes I have problems finding the exact wording for special terms in German-Englisch, and the other way around, as well as the syntax. However being able to speak Englisch (and German) perfectly and being able to perfectly translate everything are two different things. Being able to translate everything picture-perfect is not my forte, that is true, again I don't study translation or language. And maybe I could take more care in polishing everything up so it is perfect in the end. However this is very tiring and time-consuming work, so excuse me if everything is not shining in the end. Therefore I always request a second person to take a look, who might be able to correct it better. Is that a sin? No. Am I burdening someone? Hey you know what: I'm not forcing anyone to do anything here. If they don't wanna do, then don't do it, it's as simple as that. I want the article to be good, that's why we have the translation service and good users who help in polishing it up. Translating an article and creating new ones can be very tiring work, to hear that basically all I have done is complete bull#*$ is extremely rude and inconsiderate to say the least. Just get over it and move on... und vielleicht beim nächsten Mal tief durchatmen und einen etwas netteren Ton verwenden, gell?-) schönen Tag noch. Gryffindor 15:36, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
ps: I take your comments into consideration and will try in future articles to be extra careful that everything will be perfect, is that alright with you? Again, please keep in mind that translating is very tedious and meticulous work, I am not an expert in that.
your help
[edit]Hello Temistokles,
some articles have been translated from German, however they need polishing. Since you seem to have great knowledge about specific translations and terms, maybe you could be so kind as to look into some of these articles? There were many complicated terms where the translation could be wrong. The syntax probably could use polish as well: Communist Party of Austria, Liberal Forum. Your input would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time and effort. Gryffindor 21:17, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Temistokles. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Temistokles~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
