Salve! Thanks for your corrections to List of Latin phrases - there are a lot of strange entries there, but I guess no one has ever really attempted to clean up the whole thing. By the way, there is a Latin Wikipedia, if you are interested in editing there as well (there is also a Latin Wiktionary). Adam Bishop 00:39, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Well I'm not very good at writing in German, but I see that our Julian the Apostate article is a pretty crappy compared to the German one. I'll add it to the list of things I want to translate, if I ever find the time to translate them! Anyway, for the Latin phrases, I suppose it would be a good idea the author and work in which a particular phrase is found, if it's possible to do that. Adam Bishop 13:49, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
?
[edit]How did you manage to get a wrong mumber on a wiki? Just curious, (Sam Spade | talk | contributions) 20:37, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Plain stupidity. Or, to be less self-deprecatory: Sh.. happens. Attempting to leave a message to User:.mau., I inadvertently hit your signature there, forgot to use my brains when the page looked somewhat different all of a sudden, wrote my note, hit the save button, and the rest is history ;-). Ah, ok. I never got a chance to say "falshe nummer" due to an edit confluct (you deleting your comment ;) Cheers, (Sam Spade | talk | contributions) 21:59, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Heresiarch
[edit]I would say "an heresiarch," because I put the stress on the second syllable. I also say "an historian" for the same reason. But not everyone pronounces like that, neither in Canada nor in the US. Adam Bishop 15:20, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I don't say "an hotel", so I'm not that old-fashioned :) Anyway, it's no problem, I like answering linguistic questions like that! Adam Bishop 19:51, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hello!
I think we know each other from somewhere (whether not personally) ... ;-)
Do you want to translate something bigger from German to English or vice versa in near future? I would be pleased to have a new "translating project" with you. Greetings,

[edit]If you have a second, please vote on this: Wikipedia:Categories_for_deletion/Log/2005_September_29#Category:User_la-N. It was overturned last time because of some jokers. --Flex 15:28, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
ad arguendo
[edit]I believe you. I picked the phrase up from a news article. I'm no expert in latin, and I doubt the journalist was either. If you can find a way to correct it, great. Otherwise just delete it altogether. Thanks for checking it out. David Bergan 14:32, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
